Hi guys, Karen here,
My mom and I both found giant cabins that we could all fit in, in Gatlinburg. They both have two outdoor hot tubs, fireplaces, huge kitchens/dining rooms, pool/foosball tables, porches, etc.
Catch you soon!
:D
Check 'em out:
Black Bear Manor- Available last two weekends in October, $3742.49, 12 bedrooms, sleeps 54 adults- It's really really beautiful, all pine, has an outdoor pool

These look wonderful, but we need to figure out how important having a pet-friendly place would be. I don't need it, but I would like to know if that is a deal-breaker issue for anyone out there.
ReplyDeleteThe correct grand total for the Buckskin Lodge incl 10% discount and tax is $3966. The woman on the phone said everyone really loves it. 44 people can sit down to eat at one time. Take a look... Karen should take a little more credit in finding these properties.
ReplyDeleteRobyn here...
ReplyDeleteBuckskin Lodge looks wonderful. I think the living/dining areas would make it an ideal location. No back-and-forth between cabins and we could all be in the same room during meals and fun time (and still be comfortable).
Hi everyone this is Uncle Al & Aunt Carol coming up with another 2 cents worth.
ReplyDeleteWe think that being in one cabin has many more advantages than other options. The whole point of a reunion is uniting. One Cabin solves the problem of "no child left behind". It'll be easier for parents and grandparents to keep track of the little ones. If necessary we can easily bring 2-3 child gates.
As of now the vote seems to be leaning toward Gatlinburg. We have been viewing many of the cabin / resort options and the the best one so far is Buckskin Lodge that Karen found. We would be all under one roof. The number of bedrooms seems adequate, even though we don't have a final count. We know we would be doing our own cooking, and the kitchen appears to have two of every appliance, and plenty of room to move around. The dining area has 3 large tables and a side bar. So far this has the largest dining area we've seen. There should be plenty of space for any group activities we might want to do. Even a large presentation / theatre /media room that seats 34. It is west of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg which is less traffic and easier access. Only 30 - 40 minutes to the airport and 45 - 60 minutes to our house. This makes it easier for those that need to use the Hilliger Limo Service to and from the cabin.

Don't be put off by the price, divided out it is about $100 per person for the weekend. The cost of food will be extra, but it would cost you to be eating at home for those same three days. It's doable.... In our opinion it will cost almost the same as Beechpoint or Robyn's camp.
